What patients ask first.
Do you accept insurance?
No. Thrive is a direct-pay concierge practice. We do not bill or accept insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. This allows us to provide the depth of care your conditions require — without insurance-dictated limitations. HSA and FSA funds are accepted. Lab and imaging costs may be covered by your insurance separately.
What does a concierge membership include?
Membership includes unlimited office visits, same-day or next-day scheduling, direct messaging access to Dr. Alfonso, care coordination, and annual comprehensive labs. Premium and Executive tiers add extended visits, quarterly labs, CGM management, and longevity panels.
Do you see patients with Type 1 diabetes?
Yes. Dr. Alfonso manages both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including advanced CGM, LADA, and prediabetes. For patients currently on insulin, we provide support with weaning and transition to non-insulin regimens where clinically appropriate. We coordinate with endocrinology subspecialists when ongoing insulin management is needed.
Do you prescribe GLP-1 medications (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro)?
Yes. Dr. Alfonso has extensive experience prescribing and managing GLP-1 receptor agonist and GIP/GLP-1 dual agonist therapies for both diabetes management and medical weight loss.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes. Established patients may be seen via telehealth for follow-up visits and medication management. New patient evaluations are conducted in-person at our Flagstaff office.
How is this different from seeing an endocrinologist?
Traditional endocrinology practices are often high-volume, with limited visit time and long waits for new appointments. As a concierge physician, Dr. Alfonso combines specialist-level expertise with unhurried, relationship-based care — and sees the full metabolic and hormonal picture, not just one condition.
